Frequently Asked Questions
Below you will find some of the most popular questions we receive every day. Typically these answers will apply to most vacation properties, but each owner handles things a little different, so be sure to check each owner’s policies to be sure. The below answers apply to all the properties on this website.
How do I Book a Vacation Home?
1) Confirm availability; It’s always best to check with the owner to confirm availability first. No sense in wasting time if the property isn’t available. Please note, the Availability Calendars on this website are always updated and current.
All too often there may be several people interested in the same dates you are, even though the availability calendar may show it’s vacant, it’s best to send an inquiry first.
Send an email to the Owner and check in first. Be sure to include which home you are interested in, along with how many in your party, (Adults, Children, Pets) and the dates you are seeking.
2) Rental agreements; Depending on the property, you’ll probably have a couple of options to secure the booking. Step 1, Print out and fax back the rental agreement, most every owner will have a rental agreement that needs to be signed. Review the rental agreement thoroughly, sign and date it, and fax or mail it back. Include the security deposit to hold your dates.
3) Payments; Each homeowner may have different options for accepting your payment. Some accept online payments via credit card, others accept Checks or Money Orders. The payment options are typically posted on the property details of the website for the home you are looking at.On all of our properties there is a 50% deposit due to hold the home.
The balance is due 45 prior to check in. This is common in the home rental market, because unlike a hotel (which may have 100’s of rooms), you are securing the entire home. Once confirmed, those dates are blocked off from the availability calendar, and no one else can rent them.
4) Confirmation; will come by email or phone (usually email) within a couple of days of the home owner receiving the rental agreement and deposit. The confirmation will include all the check in details, key pick-up information, as well as maps and driving directions to the home.
That’s about it… Enjoy your vacation!
I made it there… Now What?
Checking in; It’s always a good idea to call the owner and let them know you made it in OK. Typically there will be no one at the home when you arrive, the owner is just as concerned about you making it there OK, as you are finding it and getting in. So communication is the key. Give ‘em a call and let them know all is well.
Checking out; All of our properties have a check out list at the home, along with a short manual covering basic operations of the home. There is also a check out list, covering a few basic things to do before checking out, like where to leave the trash, where to leave the sheets/towels, etc. . Clean up and leaving the home as you found it is highly recommended. It also ensures that no deductions will be made for extra cleaning fee’s.
Most homeowners go thru great lengths to keep their home clean and comfortable, for you, for them, as well as the next guest. While your cleaning fee covers general cleaning and sanitizing, leaving a sink full of dishes would not be appropriate. Try to leave the home as close to as it was when you arrived.
What are Resort Privileges?
Resort Privileges means that the amenities of the hotel, like golf, tennis, fitness rooms, massage, spa and even room service are available to you, even if you’re not a guest of the hotel. Most Golf and Tennis courses are private and require a membership, or are restricted to home owners only.
The desert area is known for it’s hundreds of private clubs with pricy membership fees. These annual fees can range from a few thousand a year to over $100,000 annually. So can you enjoy those benefits without a membership, or staying at a hotel?
Yes!
It’s called “Resort Privileges” and many properties in the area are “attached” to some amazing hotels where you can enjoy many, or all the facilities, without being a hotel guest. The amenities will vary, depending on where you stay.
For example, stay at our Legacy Villa condo and you can enjoy full resort Privileges, including golf, tennis, fitness room, massage, spa and even room service. To arrange use, just call the hotel.
Fee’s and rates for these amenities are posted on the La Quinta Resort website. Specifically, see Golf here, tennis here, spa here….
An example of limited resort privileges would be our
La Quinta Golf Course Condo, this unit allows use of Golf and Tennis, and can be arranged by calling the hotel.
I say limited privileges , as the resort pools are for hotel guests or
units with full privileges, but golf and tennis is available for use.
Fee’s apply for golf and tennis whether you’re a hotel guest, or have full or limited privileges.
Court Rental
